This will be a quick update!
Surgery went well and was successful. Dr.Hsu informed us that my diaphragm was incredibly low. Not only was it pushing on my ligament but also my stomach and liver which then resulted in my intestines being pushed on. Additionally my nerves were severely damaged as well as surrounding tissue. My diaphragm was repositioned and the damaged nerves and tissue were removed.
He explained that this is likely what has been causing my severe pain, trouble breathing, lifelong GI issues, and is confident this will resolve my gallbladder insufficiency. Luckily he did not see any evidence of any further compressions. I am doing my best to get up and walk, do my breathing exercises, and eat! My body has to relearn how to do most things you wouldn’t even think of. The post op pain is a pain I can not even fathom.
This is going to be a long few months but I am feeling very grateful for Dr.Hsu for quite literally saving my life as well as all of the support I have received.
